W8 Loss Wednesday #8 - No Pain, No Gain

I know, it's Friday...

This week, Fury helps me illustrate the concept of "No Pain, No Gain." This is also the last W8Loss Wednesday that I will be doing for a few weeks, because I'm off to China on business until the last week of June. I'd love to do an on-location edition, but the government bans all video hosting sites (it's quite sad to know that 1 billion people are deprived of the dramatic gopher). I will try to keep up with posting, however. This blog is in fact banned/blocked in China but I have a workaround, so fear not! Until then, enjoy this video:

Um, damn. You are leaving, so what exactly am I supposed to do in the meantime? Because don't you know it is, in fact, all about ME? Ha; just have a good time. oh, yeah, loved the vid.
-----
[BusyDad] :) Thanks Kori. You can pester me with emails, cuz I think that's the only thing that works in China, internet-wise.

OMG BD!!! Fury's "we're going to CVS" happy dance was probably the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life. And something I can SO relate to! CVS makes me do the happy dance all the time too!! Joshua is waaay jealous that your CVS toy section is way more stocked up than ours is!
Fury is a lucky, tough boy! He is much braver than I am when I get my blood taken.
I hope you have a great trip!! Can't wait to read the updates. You are such a rebel!
-----
[BusyDad] Yay you made it! I was afraid you wouldn't be able to view it from your vacation. Funny thing is I totally believe that you do a happy dance before your CVS trips. That's how you summon the Extra Care Bucks Gods.

That was seriously the best W8W to date, brother. HAHAHAHA!
-----
[BusyDad] >:P Hey, it's time you threw up another video!

June 6, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterMr Lady

That was hysterical. What a brave little guy you have! Have fun in China.
-----
[BusyDad] This kid has never cried getting a shot, not even as an infant. I think that's his superpower or something. Thanks, I sure will!!

Fury is one brave dude! Safe travels!
-----
[BusyDad] Impervious to needles. Unlike his dad. Thanks!

You are the best. Ever. Love to you and Safe Travel Mercies Coming Your Way!!!
-----
[BusyDad] :) !!! Thank you. You are awesome as always Mishi.

"Hero Mode" that is great! I'm definitely putting that in my dad bag for use later. Fury is so very brave getting a big bloody needle stick like that. Have a safe trip! Don't eat anything too bizarre!
-----
[BusyDad] But I LIVE for eating bizarre! Glad you caught that. "Hero Mode" totally WORKS. Notice he was even wearing his Iron Man shirt?

June 6, 2008 | Unregistered Commentertom

Great post! Fury's a brave young man. Safe travels! Look forward to the posts and stories when you return.
-----
[BusyDad] thanks man! (just don't make Fury ride a roller coaster).

I think your coolness factor just raised in my books: "This blog is banned/blocked in China." Sweet.

I hope you have a great trip. I know you'll miss Fury like crazy. (dWife too, don't let her think I'm biased, just that somehow it's easier to process a break away from a grownup than from one's kids, I find)
-----
[BusyDad] Haha I know what you mean. I still have Fury's voicemail to me from LAST YEAR when they were away and I stayed home. I played that like everyday. And I totally want a T-shirt that says "I am BANNED in China"

June 6, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterMommyTime

Fury is freak'n adorable! I loved his dancing. And how random is it that you ran into Miss? And why didn't you videotape her too? Oh and bring back some shoes will ya? I have small feet. *lol*
-----
[BusyDad] The CVS happy dance! It was indeed random we ran into her and I totally would have filmed it had it not been for the dozens of other people in the waiting room already thinking we were odd and loud.

Not the Dora NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Phew! hot wheels are da bomb!
-----
[BusyDad] Haha - my thoughts exactly.

June 6, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterrobj98168

Wow. He did SO MUCH better than me. Staring right into the eye of the needle. I had to look away and it hurt!! Fury is da man.

He is so cute. The happy dance and what he said? Awwww.... I dont know how long W8W lasts, but whenever it ends, you gotta keep vlogging.
-----
[BusyDad] Me too! I hate needles and the sight of my own blood. And no, I am hooked on these video things. As you can probably see, I often stray from the matter at hand on these "w8 loss" videos.

June 6, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterMiss

Fury the Fearless! He didn't even flinch.

Have a safe trip!
-----
[BusyDad] I wish I caught this a couple years ago. He actually said "Ohh Coool! That's my blood!" Thanks for the well wishes!

June 6, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterMusing

Okay. That is the best video EVER> Seriously.

We will miss you. Mwah!
-----
[BusyDad] Thanks OHMommy! I'm sure hoping I can somehow still surf your blogs because I will have much idle time (it's amazing what taking childcare out of the equation can do to your free time).

June 6, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterohmommy

Holy crap! Why can't ALL toys have that release feature???

Fury was such a champ during his blood draw :)

I'm gonna miss your W8loss Wed posts. Wishing you safe travels!
-----
[BusyDad] Thanks Sandy! I'll miss making em! Hopefully I'll have a behemoth of an international w8loss wed when I get back.

Just be lucky if you get to see a newspaper or any slice of the Internet at all. Media and journalism are the only things NOT made in China. Even though they make all the media producing equipment...go figure.
-----
[BusyDad] True true! Bloggers are not too liked over there because they, you know, have opinions.

June 6, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterHockeyman

What a dude! Clearly, he was born in "hero mode."

Not sure what you should bring back from China, but seeing that you're so in touch with the heroic, do try and take some tectonic stability vibes there with you. And supersonic healing waves.

Have a safe trip.

Another great vid, BD! Fury is such a good sport. What a calm reaction to the test. Hero mode - I love it!

Those quick release twisty things are fantastic. Packaging is just nuts these days. That's a huge improvement. The twist ties drive me crazy but the hard plastic loops you have to cut are even worse. No, actually that plastic casing stuff that has to be cut open (but then slices skin) is the worst. Anyway....

I was psyched to see that new twisty thing. Very cool.

Have a great (and successful!) time in China. We'll miss ya!
