A haiku tribute to the art of the shoulder ride

Dad, I am tired.
Can I steer you like a horse?
No reigns. Ears will do.

Shoulder_Ride2.jpg

My kid fell asleep.
Did not bother to tell me.
Forty-five pound scarf.

Hot. Ninety Degrees.
Nice breeze up on dad’s shoulders.
All dad smells is feet.

Shoulder_Ride5.jpg

Mall. Christmas season.
Kid on top. Five bags in hand.
Someone kill me now.

Shoulder_Ride4.jpg

Escalator sign.
Child and parent must hold hands.
Screw that. Extreme sports!

Shoulder_Ride6.jpg

Son on my shoulders.
Abercrombie ceiling fan.
Ten-dollar co-pay.
(just kidding!! But do be careful)
